The Central Planning Committee for the Installation of the First Bishop of the newly erected Catholic Diocese of Donkorkrom met at the St. Francis Xavier Mission compound, Donkorkrom, on August 4, 2026, to finalise discussions on the August 8 Installation ceremony.
The Central Committee members were heads of various Committees constituted to facilitate the preparations, and included: Liturgy, Food and Refreshments, Music and Choir, Fundraising and Finance Committee, Department of Social Communication (DEPSOCOM).

Others were the Protocol Committee, Transport, Accommodation and Health.
Members present at the final planning meeting were: Very Rev. Fr. Bernard Adjei Appiah, SVD, Cathedral Administrator and Chairperson of the Committee, Mr. Gregory Kangkpi, Fr. Anthony Teye Binyemi, Fr. Michael Awuah Ansah, Sr. Stella Nwosu, MSHR, Sr. Francisca Kumevor, SMMC, Sr. Sylvie Cho, MSHR, Fr. Saviour Darkey, Fr. Leopold Ettuh, Mr. Michael Djan and Mr. Kennedy Fofie.

Also present at the meeting was Rev. Fr. Cyprian Kuupol, SVD, immediate past Provincial of the Society of Divine Word (SVD), Ghana Province, who has been in the Diocese during this time, helping out with the Liturgy for the Installation.
At the end of the meeting, the Committee members took a tour of the Cathedral to see what was going on, encourage the workers in their final touches, and make recommendations where necessary. Some of the Priests even joined the Parishioners in weeding the Church compound, by way of boosting their morale and identifying with them.

The dancing troop from St. Mary’s Vocational /Technical School, Adeemmra, as well as Youth from St. Mary’s Parish and St. Francis Xavier Cathedral were present at the Cathedral, to do some rehearsals towards the August 8 Pre-Eucharistic Ceremony that will commence at 8:30 am prompt. They were being guided by Rev. Frs. Cyprian Kuupol and Bernard Adjei.
