Fr. Gosu, who is an indigene of Adeemmra, is the Accra Archdiocesan Chaplain for the St. Theresa Society.
This donation was made during the August 12, 2025 visit to the School by Obaapanyin Rose Adwoa Deku, International President of the Society, Opanin Mary Ekyirefi, International PRO, Opanin Mary Ofoe, past International Executive Council Member, and Opanin Rosemary Korang, Accra Archdiocesan Vice President and member of the International Council.
Speaking during the ceremony, Obaapanyin Rose revealed that Fr. Gosu, their Chaplain had always brought to their attention, as a charitable organisation, the plight of the children of Donkorkrom Vicariate, and encouraged them to lend their support in any way possible.
She added that the donation was further precipitated by the earlier visit to Donkorkrom by members of one of their branches from St. John the Evangelist Parish, in Accra, who identified the need for computers to enhance the children’s learning.
She encouraged the learners to study hard, so that they could emerge as good leaders in the future. She further admonished the school administration to take good care of the computers, so that they could truly serve the purpose for which they were intended.
Noting that charity is the hallmark of the St. Theresa Society, Obaapanyin Rose declared that Donkorkrom has become one of their homes, even as their Chaplain hails from there. “We will always want to make him proud,” she remarked.
Mr. Nutsugah Benedictus Seyram, Headmaster of the School, expressed deep appreciation to their “beloved Priest” Fr. Gosu, for initiating such a blessing for them. “It is through him that we have gotten this blessed opportunity,” he celebrated.
According to Mr. Nutsugah, the Priest had been doing a lot for their School community. It was he who had provided the first two computers that the children were already using, among other items.
“Our thanks on earth can never be enough, but it is only God that will bless you,” he thanked.
He was indebted to the St. Theresa Society for the wonderful works they are doing for the Church, and for remembering them in a very special way.
“May the good Lord shower his blessings upon you,” he prayed,” expressing the fervent wish that all the gifts they have been receiving may be a powerful motivation for the learners to work hard, and be useful citizens in the future.
Moved by the generosity of the St. Theresa Mothers, the Headmaster pledged to become a member of the Society, to the admiration of all present.
Saka Collins, a JHS 3 pupil speaking on behalf of the learners, expressed joy and profound gratitude to Fr. Gosu for facilitating the acquisition of computers for them, promising that they would make judicious use of them.
It was an exciting venture for the learners present, as they witnessed the setting up of the computers in the school lab.
Rev. Fr. Dionysius Kopong OLA, SVD, Parish Priest of St. Mary Mother of God Parish, Adeemmra who also doubles as the Local Manager of the School, joined in the litany of thanks, first to God for his Mercy and kindness, and then to the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Society, who, through Fr. Gosu, had heard the long-time cry for help by the school.
“This is an opportunity to smile, because we have received what we have been crying for,” he rejoiced.
The ‘Okyeame’ speaking on behalf of the community expressed profound gratitude to the donors, and prided himself over the gift of their son, Fr. Gosu, who has been very instrumental to the community.
He encouraged the learners to take their studies very seriously, lead good moral lives, so that they can be prominent persons in their community in future, after the example of Bishop John Alphonse Asiedu, SVD, and Fr. Gosu, among others that are indigenes of Adeemmra.
He promised that they, the elders, will see to it that the children are well monitored and mentored to be good citizens.
Present at the donation ceremony were some of the learners and staff, even though they were on vacation. Also present were some members of the community.
