He made this appeal in an interview with the Department of Social Communications (DEPSOCOM) of the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom, in his office on February 23, 2026, following his recent Pastoral visit to the Lake Mission.

The Bishop shared some of the inconveniences they encountered on the trip, having to board a commercial boat, together with market women, carrying all kinds of stuff on the boat. To him, this choice limited their movements, as they had to move according to the time and pace of their fellow travellers.
He disclosed that the Vicariate couldn’t charter a private boat for the trip, as had been the case in past years, mainly due to financial challenges, as he noted that it would have been “very expensive”, considering the route they took from Bruben to Germani, Germani to Galilia, and Galilia to Battorkope, and back.

Though the combined trip was “another experience” for Bishop Asiedu, he would have celebrated their travelling in their own chartered boat, as it would have allowed them to go from one place to the other at their own time and pace. They would have also been able to spend more time with the various communities and groups along the lake, to the greatest delight of the people, who always look forward to meeting the Bishop and the Priests, and spending quality time with them. Such meetings, he said, help to boost their morale.
For a more effective Apostolate in the Lake Mission, the Local Ordinary called on people of goodwill to support the growing Vicariate to acquire a boat for trips to the Lake Mission or at least offer financial support to enable them charter one for the same purpose whenever the need arises.
“We will be very grateful to God and to benefactors who will be able to support us in that direction,” he solicited.
