The Executive Secretary for the Department of Social Communication (DEPSOCOM), at the Ghana National Catholic Secretariat, Rev. Fr. Dieu-Donne Kofi Davor, has lauded the Most Rev. Peter Kwaku Atuahene, Bishop of Goaso Diocese and Episcopal Chairman for DEPSOCOM, for the warm welcome he accorded the Diocesan DEPSOCOM Directors in his Diocese during their Annual Meeting which took place at the Pastoral and Social Centre, Goaso, from April 27 to 30, 2026, and for his keen interest in the Communication Apostolate.

Addressing the Directors after the April 28 Opening Mass officiated by the Most Rev. Peter Kwaku Atuahene, Fr. Dieu-Donne revealed that Bishop Atuahene has been very much interested in the work of Communication, long before he became the Episcopal Chair in November, 2025,  and is very much in touch with current issues. He further disclosed that the Bishop was one of the first people who encouraged young priests to venture into Radio Evangelism.

The Executive Secretary further praised the Bishop for his generosity and hospitality, underpinning that, as soon as he became aware of the DEPSOCOM Directors’ Meeting to be hosted in his Diocese,  he quickly took the pains to call the Pastoral and Social Centre,  and do the necessary arrangments, for the meeting, even before the Goaso Diocesan Director could do so. Such a gesture, according to Fr. Dieu-Donne was a laudable testimony of the Bishop’s interest in the Communication Apostolate in Ghana.

He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Episcopal Chair, who not only accepted to host the Directors, but also “to direct, guide, and lead them as the Shepherd in the Communications Apostolate”.

The Priest prayed that the Communication Directors may be inspired by Bishop Atuahene’s personal interest and willingness to encourage and support them, and put in their best in the work, despite their limited resources.

He shared the hope that the Episcopal Chair will be able to convey the many struggles of the DEPSOCOM Offices across the Dioceses, which may help them see the need to support and equip these offices for better effectiveness, and which will go a long way to promote development and progress in the Church and country at large.

Bishop Atuahene joined the Directors for supper on the eve of their departure where he treated them to ice-cream and drinks, among other delicacies and was present in the morning of April 30 to bid them farewell back to their respective Dioceses.
